Foundation Stage

The founding years are arguably the most exciting years of a child’s learning journey. In foundation stage, children learn to be independent, socialise, share and develop their little muscles to be able to carry out tasks without adult intervention.

In PBS we use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) British curriculum which consists of 7 areas of learning. The prime areas of learning include: personal, social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development. The specific areas of learning include: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts.

Each child’s development is independently monitored and encouraged through constructive play and adult-led activities. The children are assessed through learning observations and feedback is shared both with the child and their parents.

Parent communication is optimised through the use of the App Seesaw for Families.
