Frequently Asked Questions in Secondary

We study the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum, followed by Cambridge IGCSEs and A-Levels.

As a British School we are a 13-year school system. That means our Year 13 is equal to the US Grade 12. Students have to complete Year 13 to receive their A-Level results and achieve Ministry equivalence.

Year 12 and 13 are known as Key Stage 5, but may often be referred to as the ‘Sixth Form. The term survives from an earlier system when the first five years of English secondary schooling were known as forms.

Students will be entered to sit an IGCSE (sometimes referred to as an IG) in all of the subjects that they study in Year 10 and 11, except those that follow the Ministry of Education curriculum and non-compulsory PE.
